I'm making a couple Turkey hats, one for my grandson and one for my great nephew.
I started out with a basic hat with earflaps. They are both in Kindergarten so I wanted the hats to be around 19 or 20 inches in circumference.

I looked at Pinterest at a couple different Turkey hats and used them for ideas for the decorations on the hat. I added eyes, a nose and a wattle and 5 turkey feathers!

Then I added some swirly pieces as hair for more decoration on the top.

And last I added braids to the ear flaps. I'm still working on the 2nd hat. I hope you enjoyed seeing my turkey hats.

This is the first installment of my crocheting blog. I've wanted to blog about different things and I think it's a great outlet to express yourself even if no one reads it!

This baby blanket is one of my latest creations. I made this for my new great-nephew. There was no set pattern for this blanket. I used a basic basketweave stitch which alternated 5 front post double crochet and 5 back post double crochet. This blanket is so soft and very heavy.

 The yarn I used was

Patons Beehive Baby Chunky Yarn in Blue Marl and the Patons Beehive Baby Chunky in White

I looked at this yarn over and over at the yarn store and I think the blue color is unusual and bright. The blanket took quite a lot of yarn- 6 skeins of the blue and 2 of the white.

The border is one row of single crochet to straighten out the sides and then a simple repetitive row of double crochet skip 2, 3 double crochet that doesn't look too feminine since this blanket was for a boy.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my baby blanket.
